We're in the process of moving to a new apartment

Maverick’s 10th month involved lots of changes for our family. New jobs, new schedules, new foods, and new skills. Luckily, he seemed to handle all of them like a champ. He’s learning new skills by the minute, but my favorite one, by far, is that he has started to bounce to music. Beau never did this and it makes my heart so, so happy. Honestly the only thing that beats Maverick’s dancing is the determined beeline he makes for me the second I walk in the door after work. He makes such a funny grunt as he crawls. I’m really going to miss it when he starts walking, which is sure to be sooner than I’d like.

Southey works from 9:30pm-6:00am on Friday nights, so I try to take the boys out on my own for a bit on Saturdays to allow him to get some quality sleep without the sound of babies crying in the background. Usually I put Mav in the seat up front and just let Beau sit in the big basket part, but I thought I’d try to put both boys in one of these monster carts for a change.
I lasted three minutes. Didn’t even make it past the sunglasses before pulling a U-turn and switching carts. It was so heavy and awkward. How does anyone push those things?

If you look very closely, you can see Mav’s three little chompers on the bottom.

This guy is 2 and a half years old. The terrible twos haven’t been too terrible for us so far. Don’t get me wrong, he certainly has his moments. His tantrums are louder and much more dramatic, and don’t even try to tell him he has to wait for his chicken nuggets to cool down before he can eat them. But overall, Beau is at a really fun age. He’s extremely verbose, and my favorite thing he does lately are his incredibly long and detailed tangents. One picture of a racecar  in a book will send him into a three minute long story about wearing safety helmets and going SO fast around a racetrack and then they will wave the checkered flag, and then everyone will cheer, and there will be fireworks, and confetti, and you will hold up a trophy, and YOU WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP! Everything is very exciting for him right now, and it’s very easy to get wrapped up in the excitement right there next to him.
